Elizabeth Heatherington's background in custom
jewelry design and fabrication brings a fine eye for
design and detail in her woodworking. She only
recently began showing her wood pieces, as of August
of 2003, but has already received considerable
attention for her unique designs, use of materials and
superior craftsmanship.
Elizabeth's designs utilize many techniques, including sculpture, mosiac inlay,
and intarsia overlay. She works with a variety of domestic and exotic woods,
both hard and soft, straight grained and figured. She will often incorporate a
medley of woods and employ a variety of artistic techniques in a single design to
achieve a distinctly unique result.
