Handcrafted Western Red Cedar Roof Shingles
Every roof begins with Western Red Cedar boards that I mill into individual shingles right here in my workshop. Rather than using commercially manufactured shingles, each piece is cut and shaped by hand, giving the roof the natural variation and character of traditional cedar craftsmanship.
The shingles are individually fitted and layered to create a distinctive, dimensional roof that complements the handcrafted construction of each birdhouse. Because cedar naturally varies in grain, color, and texture, no two roofs are exactly alike—making every birdhouse truly one of a kind.
